Water Operations ensures safe and effective provincial water related infrastructure through the delivery of inspection, planning, design, maintenance, rehabilitation and construction activities. The Branch is responsible for the overall management of infrastructure inventory that includes drains, dams, flood protection dikes, diversions, bridges, culverts and pumping stations.

Duties : The Construction Lead Hand (CLH) reports to the Superintendent, the incumbent provides onsite supervision of assigned projects and performs various semi-skilled duties relating to the maintenance, construction, and operational duties on provincial dams and waterways. Qualifications : Essential :
- Experience in maintenance and operation of water conveyance structures, bridges, dams and other water related works.
- Experience operating and maintaining power tools, pumps, chainsaws, and small equipment used in construction.
- Knowledge of general construction specifications, procedures and guidelines.
- Strong leadership skills and decision making skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team.
- Verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and courteously with internal and external stakeholders.
- Written communication skills with the ability to prepare and complete various reports and forms.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Knowledge of Occupational Safety Health Regulations and safe work procedures.Conditions of Employment :
Must be legally entitled to work in CanadaMust possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.Must possess and maintain a valid Class 3 Driver's Licence (or obtain within 6 months of employment).Must be able to work outdoors year-round in extreme weather and rough terrain, with exposure to hazards such as construction equipment, traffic, noise, dust, tools, fabrication areas, chemicals, insects, vegetation, and sharp objects.Must be able to perform physical requirements of the job including lifting, bending and carrying up to 25 kg.Must be able and willing to work extended hours and / or days.Must be able to travel frequently to work sites within the province by ground, air or water transportation and be away overnight for extended periods of time.
