Responsibilities

Review specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and details of projects.

•    Plan, schedule, and direct crews within the budget and timeline assigned.

•    Responsible for job site operations including onsite activities of Contractors and multiple interfacing projects within the assigned area of responsibility

•    Site-based role, flexibility required to adapt to construction-based shift patterns (i.e. nights, weekends,)

•    Conduct thorough constructability reviews of detailed design and construction packages. Identify project risks and provide recommendations to mitigate project risks. These risks shall include technical, safety, cost, quality, schedule, environmental compliance, operations, and third parties

•    Establishes, coordinates, and monitors construction schedules, staging plans, and interface schedules

•    Establishes, coordinates, and monitors construction schedules, staging plans, and interface schedules

•    Coordinates with Lead Field Specialist and Technical Advisor on required quality inspections including Witness and Hold Points

•    Monitors and records the Contractor’s progress. Maintains and distributes detailed contemporaneous site records

•    Monitors procedures to ensure construction operations are continuously adhering to engineering designs, specifications, quality standards, schedules, and budget

•    Responsible for coordination of construction operations to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules

•    Maintains relationships with the subcontractor(s), other segmental personnel and internal stakeholders (i.e. Quality, Safety, Environmental)

•    Ensures corporate policies and procedures are fully implemented, including project ECO plan, and all legislative responsibilities

•    Ensures that employees are provided with and use the appropriate equipment, material and / or procedures required to perform their jobs safely

Requirements

Previous experience working with site development, grading and earthworks, drainage, and large paving projects

•    Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications

•    Ability to use Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and Project

•    Strong organizational skills

•    Advanced math skills

•    Commitment to delivering results on time

•    Excellent organizational skills and knowledge of project management, estimating, and cost control skills.

Requirements

•    Minimum of 5 years of related Superintendent / General Foreman experience.

•    10-15  years of Sewer / Water / Road building construction experience

•    Valid Class 5 Driver’s license (clean abstract preferred)

•    Experience working with teams and stakeholders in the development and delivery of large infrastructure projects. Ability to communicate across technical disciplines (engineering, construction, operations, maintenance)

•    Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities

•    Proven knowledge of theories and practices of civil engineering acquired through a degree in civil engineering or a diploma in engineering technology or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

•    Previous experience working with site development, grading and earthworks, drainage, and large paving projects, heavy civil public construction projects.

Valid driver's license, preferably with clean abstract.
