Elder Care Provider

Title : Part-Time Elder Care Companion / Home Support – Cambridge, ON

Description :

I am looking for a kind, patient, and friendly caregiver to support my 82-year-old father in Cambridge, Ontario. This role is about more than just helping with tasks, it’s about providing companionship, conversation, and a caring presence. We are also seeking someone who can also take care of cleaning, including laundry, dishes, bathrooms, beds and floors (sweep and wash). He is able to do everything on his own but I want him to have the help anyway at this age.

Responsibilities :

Cooking nutritious meals

Housekeeping, including bathrooms, floors and laundry

Running errands and assisting with appointments

Reminding him about medications

Conversation and companionship

Help him with his garden in the summer

He loves speaking Spanish, German or Turkish, even though he is fluent in English. So it's a great opportunity to practice another language if you have some foundatoinal knowledge.

Requirements :

Valid driver’s license and good driving record (you can use his vehicle)

Background check required

References required

First aid / CPR certification preferred

A patient, reliable, friendly, and communicative personality

Hours & Schedule :

Flexible and open schedule, starting with 1 or 2 days per week, 3 hours per day, and will adjust as needed. The only time we would need to schedule particular days is when he has doctor appointments that he may need a ride to and from.

Compensation :

20 per hour (independent contractor)
