Lifeguard / Instructor II

Up to 4 Positions – Competition #2026-04.

We have an exciting opportunity for positive and energetic individuals to fill Lifeguard / Instructor II positions at the outdoor Ferny Coombe Pool for the upcoming season.

Responsibilities

• Lead the on‑deck supervision of the aquatic area or designated aquatics program.
• Provide support and direction to staff and take the lead on responding to incidents.
• Correspond with patrons, provide feedback to the Lifeguard / Instructor I, and lead pool events and activities.
• Perform pool maintenance and reporting.

Pay and benefits for these bargaining unit auxiliary positions are in accordance with the Collective Agreement, CUPE Local 458. The 2025 post‑probationary wage rate for this position is $29.24 per hour plus 14.0% in lieu of benefits.

Preferred candidates will be required to complete a Police Information Check and provide a recent driver’s license abstract.
