Title: Intermediate Mechanical Engineer – Ottawa (Onsite)

We're currently working with one of our trusted engineering consulting clients to find an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join their growing Ottawa team. This is a full-time, onsite position, suited for someone who thrives in a hands-on, collaborative office setting and is looking to deepen their project leadership experience.

What you'd be doing in this role

This is a key intermediate-level role for someone with 4–10 years of experience. You'll take ownership of smaller projects and lead portions of larger ones, with responsibilities including:

• Designing and analyzing building mechanical systems (HVAC, fire protection, etc.)

• Performing HVAC load calculations and equipment selection

• Coordinating with architects, structural, electrical, and other disciplines

• Applying building codes and standards appropriately to design and documentation

• Creating technical reports, drawings, and specifications

• Integrating sustainability and energy efficiency into your designs

• Taking part in project planning, budgeting, and client meetings

• Representing the firm in meetings and managing small project teams

• Mentoring junior engineers as needed

You're a match if you have

• A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline)

• P.Eng. designation (licensed in Ontario)

• Between 4–10 years of relevant experience in building systems design

• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Excel, Adobe PDF, and mechanical engineering tools

• Solid understanding of building codes and engineering best practices

• Strong communication and coordination skills

• The ability to take initiative and manage multiple moving parts
