Be our next Junior Inspector!
In this role, you will be a part of the Contract Administration team, of the Transportation sector , based in our Hamilton, Brampton, Barrie or Markham Ontario office(s) and have the opportunity to work on the MTO and municipal projects.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
- Oversee, document, review, and assess contractor’s compliance with contractual requirements.
- Take accurate and detailed measurements of all work performed by the contractor to ensure accurate payments for work performed.
- Prepare daily site observation report and maintain a daily photograph log.
- Assist the Contract Administrator / Senior Inspector in preparing various internal / external reports and other status reports to client.
- Assist the Contract Administrator / Senior Inspector with the review of contractor submissions (critical path schedules, field changes, monthly payment certificates for compliance with contractual obligations.
- Confirm the appropriate qualifications and certifications for all contractor employees, resources, and equipment.
What your experience looks like
Experience working with MTO projects, and municipalities for grading, paving, underground water main, sanitary and storm sewers, roads, and bridge construction would be an asset.
- Recent grad from Civil Technician or Technologist Program.
- Registration or ability to register with OACETT as a ., ., rcji
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of appropriate laws and regulations (environmental, health and safety, .
- Knowledge of design standards, Ontario Provincial Standard Specifications / Standard drawings (OPSS / OPSD’s), and methods and materials associated with municipal / highway construction.
- Proficient in Microsoft office (Word and Excel).
- Previous experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D would be considered an asset.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for travel to construction site.
- Able to work overtime on weekends and nights as required.
