About Our Client

Our client is sourcing a Finance Manager for a 4-month contract.

About the Opportunity

Full-Cycle Accounting :

• Manage the full accounting cycle including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll support, and bank reconciliations.

Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, deferrals, allocations, and adjustments.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with applicable accounting standards for NPOs.

Ensure compliance with internal policies, funding agreements, and regulatory requirements.

Accounts Payable Oversight :

Oversee and support the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice coding, approvals, payment processing, and vendor management.

Ensure timely and accurate processing of payments.

Strengthen and maintain internal controls related to disbursements.

Monitor cash flow related to payables and vendor commitments.

Month-End & Financial Reporting :

Lead the monthly close process, ensuring completeness and accuracy.

Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.

Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, including bank accounts, prepaid expenses, accruals, and other key accounts.

Analyze variances and provide insights to leadership.

Support budget tracking and financial forecasting.

Reconciliations & Controls :

Perform and review general ledger reconciliations on a regular basis.

Ensure accuracy of restricted funds and program-related reporting.

Identify process improvements and enhance financial controls.

Assist in developing and maintaining financial policies and procedures.

About You

Qualifications & Experience :

CPA designation (or working toward completion) preferred.

5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a non-profit or public sector environment.

Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting and financial reporting.

Experience managing or overseeing accounts payable processes.

Familiarity with fund accounting and restricted funding is an asset.

Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
