Our client is a multidisciplined constructionpany, and is one of the largest marine general contractors in Canada. Since 1913, their employees have built many of the major marine facilities along the coastline and inland waters of British Columbia.
Your new role
In your new role, you will assist in all aspects of the tendering process. Read and understand design drawings and specifications to be familiar with project requirements.
Prepares detailed firm, budget and unit price estimates for labour, materials, equipment, permits, etc. Liaises with client representatives,ernment officials, design engineers, vendors and subcontractors.
Confers with design engineers for interpretation of items not clearly shown and / or specified. Send out Requests for Quotations andmunicate with subcontractors and suppliers throughout the tender period.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have a university degree or diploma in Engineering or Construction (or related field).
Currently, registered or eligible to register as an AScT or EIT / P.Eng. In the province of BC. Have a minimum of 5 years of applied project management / estimating experience.
Being experience in estimating heavy civil construction projects, marine construction will be considered an asset. Ability to read and interpret design drawings and specifications.
Experience in working with subcontractors and vendors and managing schedules in order to meet deadlines
