Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire and active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Must provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrolment from the Directory at Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program who have successfully completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum; and are either in their 1st year of practical nursing program; or 2nd year of baccalaureate nursing or psychiatric nursing program will be considered. Must attest to this compliance and provide proof of qualification.

Additional Required Qualifications :

Must be able to read and write fluently in the English language and have basic computer skills. Effective communication skills, strong organizational skills, and teamwork. Must be able to meet the physical and emotional demands of the job as some of the duties include long periods of physical activity such as standing, bending, walking, lifting, pushing, and pulling (heavy demands at times). Portering duties also required.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience caring for patients with Dementia is an asset. Rehabilitation of post-operative and medical patients in the Post-Acute setting and experience with acute care patients is preferred. Knowledge of CoACT / Care Hubs and Connect Care is beneficial.
