Job Title: WelderJob Description

As a welder, you will work in a designated welding station, where you will be responsible for reading and interpreting welding diagrams, fitting, and welding structural steel sheets and tubes. You will perform MIG welding up to several feet in one weld, with a width of 10mm or more. Additional duties include grinding down welds, operating different machines to form metal, inspecting welds, and ensuring that finished products meet weld diagram specifications.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret welding diagrams.
• Fit and weld structural steel sheets and tubes using MIG welding techniques.
• Perform MIG welding up to several feet in one weld, with a width of 10mm or more.
• Grind down welds and operate various machines to form metal.
• Inspect welds and ensure finished products meet weld diagram specifications.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of experience in MIG welding, both vertical and horizontal.
• Ability to read and interpret welding diagrams.
• Proficiency in accurately taking measurements and converting units of measurement.
• Comfort working in confined spaces, such as a 4-5ft diameter cylinder.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in fitting and machine operating.
• Knowledge of TIG welding, tack welding, and grinding machine parts.

Work Environment

The work takes place in a very large welding shop that is well-organized and maintained. It can get hot inside when it's hot outside, but there are plenty of fans and large bay doors open for air circulation. The work culture is supportive, with approachable colleagues willing to lend a hand. The job offers two shifts: Day shift from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm, and Afternoon shift from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Monday to Friday.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.
