Controller

Job #4684 – Terrific opportunity to join a well-established, independent financial services provider as their Financial Controller on a full-time, permanent basis! Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for providing full-cycle accounting support from A-Z. This includes managing the day-to-day accounting operations, while also providing the leadership team with timely reporting and insight into factors impacting growth and profitability. You will be considered a hands-on, “roll-up your sleeves” Controller who enjoys having variety in their day-to-day responsibilities. Additional duties include :

• Preparation of monthly financial statements
• Preparation of budget and oversight
• Management of payroll and benefits
• Bank reconciliations
• Record monthly commission revenue and application of the variable compensation plan
• Payment of all bills and expenses
• Provide updates to CFO on progress toward annual business plans
• Preparation of year-end documents and closing of accounting system at year-end
• Manage tax related activities such as HST / PST filing and tax installments

Qualifications :

The main qualifications for this role include :

• Post-secondary education in accounting and / or finance required
• Completed CPA designation or in process considered an asset
• Minimum 5+ years of progressive full-cycle accounting experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Previous Sage 50 experience considered an asset
• Proficiency in Excel

Compensation, Perks & Opportunities :
