The Opportunity

We are looking for a business-minded actuary to handle the pricing for different products. You are more than a pricing actuary; you understand the demands of an external partner, as well as the ins-and-outs of price modelling. You provide excellent actuarial advice and influence decisions using analysis and data. You thrive in a fast-moving environment where your opinion and experience are valued. This position will also be responsible for providing statistical expertise, researching new pricing methods, and ensuring a smooth implementation of rating plans and algorithm changes across Canada. Additionally, you will be expected to provide actuarial expertise related to product design, corporate planning, and underwriting / segmentation analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own actuarial methods and assumptions for pricing.
• Develop systems, processes, and methodologies for analyzing rates and products.
• Collaborate with business partners to deliver pricing strategies and changes.
• Mentor junior team members and act as a technical expert.
• Ensure products meet the Product Development and Management Standard, and the Technical Pricing Standard.
• Gain deep knowledge of your assigned book of business and Canadian market trends to provide strategic insights.
