REGISTERED EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATOR - EARLYON

FULL TIME PERMANENT WITH BENEFTIS (COMP #2026-01-28)

LOCATION : 1040 Brookes Street Site

Under the direction and supervision of the Child Care Supervisor, the Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) is responsible for the delivery of the EarlyON program that will provide a warm and welcoming environment grounded in Indigenous culture where parents and caregivers can socialize and learn together in a safe and nurturing environment and children can participate with a focus on early learning.

The Registered Early Childhood Educator will engage children and families that supports development of the physical, intellectual, social, spiritual and emotional well-being of the participating children. The ECE will aim to engage parents and caregivers while making meaningful connections through activities, connecting to resources and professionals trained in early childhood development.

Operational hours will include days, evenings and weekends as per programming needs.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Must have an Early Childhood Educator Diploma and be registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
• Experience working in a childcare setting, or EarlyON program setting considered an asset.
• Must have lived experience and understanding of Indigenous culture.
• Indigenous language speaker an asset.
• Proficient computer experience in Microsoft Office applications including MS Word, Excel, Publisher and Outlook.
• Proof or willing to obtain certificates of completion for privacy training and occupational health and safety training.
• Must be able to work flexible shifts to meet programing needs.
• Ability to provide immunization record.
• Perform all physical aspects of the position, including frequently moving around, bending, reaching, and lifting.
• Current First Aid and CPR with AED.
• A valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES :

Ability to create and implement both virtual and in person programming.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Supporting the implementation of emergent play-based curriculum and pedagogical recording.

As a condition of employment;
