Overview
New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking an Azure Cloud Systems Engineer with strong expertise in automation, cloud infrastructure management, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). The successful candidate will play a hands-on role in supporting and enhancing cloud environments, collaborating with DevOps teams, and contributing to the adoption of new technologies. This contract position follows a hybrid model and requires onsite presence in Richmond, BC a minimum of three days per week.
Responsibilities
- Implement and support automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions for cloud services including compute, storage, application services, application gateways, redundancy, networking, and recovery.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to set up and troubleshoot Azure services supporting business application deployments.
- Develop and maintain automation solutions using Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell scripts, release pipelines, and related tools.
- Manage and maintain Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Linux servers (setup, decommissioning, patching, certificate renewals, OS image builds).
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members, participating in design review groups and contributing to cloud roadmap expansion.
- Participate in the team’s on-call rotation to ensure service availability.
Requirements
6+ years of experience in infrastructure design / support or software development, including 2+ years in cloud technologies.Proven ability to work with complex, integrated environments.Hands-on experience with automation tools (PowerShell, shell scripting, Ansible).Strong expertise in IaC (Terraform, ARM, or BICEP).Solid knowledge of Windows Server and Linux, including security patching.Demonstrated experience designing and building Microsoft Azure solutions.Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure IaaS and PaaS services (compute, storage, networking, redundancy, recovery, application gateways).Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines (classic and YAML) and CI / CD practices.Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.Experience in Agile and DevOps practices.If you have the necessary expertise and able to work in Canada, please submit your resume.
