Primary Care Physician

Position Overview

We are looking for an exceptional Primary Care Physician to join our team at CFB Halifax, one of Canada’s largest and most vibrant military bases. Whether you’re seeking a full‑time or part‑time position, this role offers a unique opportunity to deliver comprehensive care to Canada’s dedicated Armed Forces members.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary medical care to patients with acute and chronic health conditions, including referral to other health care providers when warranted.
• Deliver occupational health services, such as referral of patients to personal protective device programs (hearing conservation, respiratory protection). Communicate with the Senior Medical Authority on relevant clinical matters, including CF Spectrum of Care, complex patients requiring multidisciplinary intervention, and individual operational readiness.
• Maintain patient medical information in the Electronic Health Record and other patient health records.

Qualifications

• Licensed and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia.
• Certification in Family Medicine with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP).
• Basic Life Support for Health Providers or CPR/AED Level C.

Additional Requirements

• Ability to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level.
