The Team

Our team the Office of the Chief Veterinarian Dairy Program is a small collaborative group committed to supporting safe and sustainable dairy production across BC. As part of this established team youll work closely with the Lead Dairy Inspector and other specialists in a respectful supportive environment where different perspectives are welcomed and flexibility helps us meet the needs of both industry and community.

The Role

As a Dairy Inspector youll work directly with dairy producers across BC to make sure farms meet the requirements of the Milk Industry Standards Regulation. This includes conducting on-farm inspections providing practical guidance to correct issues and supporting producers through sometimes complex situations. The role combines technical knowledge with strong communication and problem-solving skills and we value diverse perspectives and approaches to help build trust and positive relationships with producers while ensuring safe high-quality milk for communities.

Qualifications :

Education and Experience Requirements

• Diploma in agriculture sciences or equivalent with experience in the dairy industry with an emphasis on farm-level production OR diploma in Law or equivalent with operational experience in a regulatory compliance program.
• Operational experience in mediating solutions regulatory enforcement or auditing with preference given to either the Milk Industry Act the National Dairy Code or the Dairy Farmers of Canada ProAction.
• Valid BC Drivers license.

About this Position :

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 1 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
