Salary :
Horizontal Directional Drill Operator
Reporting to the Foreman or Project Supervisor, the HDD Operator is responsible for operating the equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. The HDD Operator must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment. Equipment may include and is not limited JT10 JT60.
Position Qualifications :
- Great degree of manual dexterity
- 2+ years of experience in underground utility construction
- Class 1 Alberta driver's license preferred; or any class with air endorsement and clean drivers abstract
- Can communicate in English (speak, read, and write)
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. Good organizational and time management skills, and the ability to manage multiple, and changing priorities. Detail oriented with an aptitude for metrics
- Strong drive to get projects / work completed. High integrity, ability to maintain confidentiality is essential
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel domestically as required
- Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions and in awkward and tight spaces
Ticket Requirements
Intermediate First Aid, ABGCA Approved Ground Disturbance Level II, Generic WHMIS 2015, CSTS 2020Reporting Relationship
The HDD Operator reports directly to a Foreman or Project Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities :
Operate the equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policies and proceduresMaintain a positive public image of the company with appropriate personal conduct and maintaining a clean and safe work environmentConducts pre-trip / walk-around safety inspections, maintenance checks and completes daily Field Level Hazard Assessments for all activities.Solid understanding of the OH&S legislation pertaining to constructionClean equipment as scheduled and / or requiredEnsure equipment is safe and secure at end of shiftAdvise the Foreman of any requirements for maintenance or repairsParticipate in routine maintenancePractice workplace safetyLoading and unloading of equipmentAssessing ground conditions of each locationWorking with ground personnel in locations and process of conduit and vault installationPlace mats when neededMix mud / polymer when applicablePerform general construction activities, when applicableAid in the jetting processOther duties as assigned.What Leif Services offers :
