Since 1994 over 10,000 people have been involved with the Sea Kayak Guides Alliance of BC. There are currently over 500 active members in the SKGABC, including guides, associate members, and company owners / operators. Guides are certified to four different levels, and Level Three Guides may receive additional certification statuses.

Job Description :
We are seeking a SKGABC Level 2 certified guide to be part of our team. Coast Mountain Expeditions offers multi-day kayaking from our lodge on Read Island, as well as lodge-based tours and day guiding from Discovery Islands Lodge on Quadra Island. Family owned since 1987, we offer high quality, personalized wilderness kayaking experiences. This is a full-time position. You will primarily lead multi-day expedition style sea kayak tours through the Discovery Islands and mainland inlets, but will also spend some time guiding lodge-based tours in the Surge Narrows area. Our ideal candidate is personable, attentive to detail, and eager to be part of a dedicated team. You’ll receive training to further your leadership, interpretation, and technical paddling skills. Knowledge of coastal marine history and ecology is important; willingness to learn and develop skills / knowledge is essential. Comfortable on-site shared accommodation on Read Island is provided free of charge.
Transportation to / from Read Island is easy to arrange. Our ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about living and learning from an off-grid, remote island lifestyle. Our location is close to the famous Surge Narrows tidal rapids, and you’ll have access to a fleet of high-performance sea kayaks to make the most of it. This is a great job you’re looking to build paddling skills. AOG / Lv 2 / Lv 3 : $200-300 / day based on experience. Inquire with your resume.
