As a vital member of our Public Works Department, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of heavy-duty vehicles and specialized equipment essential to the daily operations of a vibrant community. Job Responsibilities :

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, including but not limited to trucks, buses, construction machinery, and specialized municipal vehicles.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake inspections, and engine tune-ups to ensure optimal performance and longevity of vehicles.
• Conduct thorough inspections to identify and address potential issues before they escalate, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools to efficiently diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical problems.
• Welding and fabrication of components when necessary to repair or modify equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of all repairs, services, and inspections conducted on each vehicle or piece of equipment.
• Collaborate with other maintenance and operational staff to prioritize and coordinate repairs, minimizing downtime and ensuring the availability of essential services.
• Stay abreast of industry developments, technological advancements, and best practices to enhance skills and contribute to the continuous improvement of the maintenance program.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, promoting a culture of safety within the workplace.
• Participate in on-call rotations or emergency response teams as required to address urgent maintenance needs.
