SQL Server Database Administrator

Salary : $90,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements :

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
• 6+ years of practical experience managing MSSQL databases (2016-2022)
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Postgres
• 3+ years of experience with Oracle databases (19c, 12c) on Unix / Linux
• 1+ years of development experience
• Familiarity with large database management
• Knowledge of Oracle Optimizer plans and hints
• Proficiency in MSSQL performance tuning
• Experience building automation tools or APIs using Python
• Skills in shell scripting and Linux script development
• SQL Server / Oracle expertise, specifically in MSSQL 2016 - 2022, Postgres, and Oracle 19C
• Competence in Unix shell scripting
• Knowledge of Linux and Windows server operating systems / cluster
• Familiarity with EMC-SAN technologies
• Experience in Agile methodology
• Certification in database administration (preferred)
• Proficient in English and French (language skills)

Responsibilities :

Install, configure, manage, and maintain databases

Ensure database health, resiliency, and optimize performance

Collaborate closely with developers and application support to provide technical assistance

Participate in on-call duty, managing alerts and escalations during both business and off-hours, including weekends and holidays on a rotational basis

Establish and sustain database backup and recovery procedures

Create and provide technical documentation

Support and execute database changes while ensuring their quality

Conduct capacity planning for databases

Assist team members in implementing group / team strategies
