Job Description :
Our client requires a HR Manager to join their Canadian office. They are conducting a search for an HR Manager- North America to support the employees across Canada and the US. The position holder will be exposed to a manufacturing environment and will act as business partner to the management team. The position is based in Toronto but periodic visits to a second site will be required. Reporting to the Head of Global HR, the HR Manager is a proactive individual who can build relationships with people across different levels, partner with business managers and is comfortable working on their own with limited direction. Physical attendance in the office for at least three days per week is a requirement for this position.
Responsibilities :
- Handle the recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes for corporate and plant staff.
- Oversee compensation and benefits for US and Canadian employees (in coordination with a third-party administrator).
- Give final approval to third-party payroll for any changes and processing.
- Execute bonus payments and compensation adjustments promptly as directed by management.
- Facilitate the engagement and communication of new and ongoing global HR initiatives.
- Manage employee relations, training and development, and performance management for North American teams.
- Implement HR strategies to develop talent and enhance performance.
- Ensure adherence to local employment laws and regulations.
- Support the global training platform, including governance practices and IT cybersecurity awareness.
- Engage in special projects and perform other duties as needed for the North American and global markets.
- Work with the Senior Executive Assistant to maintain office facilities.
- Oversee the Toronto office budget and assist in selecting vendors and purchasing equipment, services, and supplies for efficient office operation.
- Provide backup support for the Senior Executive Assistant during their absence.
Qualifications :
Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.CHRP designation or actively pursuing this would be preferredMinimum of three years’ experience working as an HR Manager or similar roleFamiliarity with HRIS and Payroll systemsGood knowledge of employee benefits, local labour laws and HR best practices (Canada / US)Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with a strong desire to learn and further develop skillsAbility to make and take ownership of decisionsPossesses a logical and detailed approach to responsibilities by anticipating needs and strong organizational skills.Ability to deal tactfully and diplomatically with employees while maintaining confidentialityCapable of adapting quickly to changing priorities and multi-task in a demanding environmentAble to take initiative, be resourceful and conduct research and / or fact-finding on different subject mattersHigh level of discretion and confidentiality in the handling of sensitive information.If you are already registered with TDS Personnel please contact your Consultant.
