The National Nursing Assessment Service (NNAS) is a Canadian not-for-profit organization established in 2012 that assists internationally educated nurses (IEN) on their journey to practice nursing in Canada.
Its membership consists of the 18 licensed practical nurse, registered nurse, and registered psychiatric nurse Regulatory Bodies in Canada, except Quebec and the territories.
Operating in the best interests of the public, NNAS provides a single process for IEN credentials to be verified and their education compared to Canadian nursing Entry to Practice Competencies.
Its work is guided by the values of transparency, fairness and integrity and NNAS’ vision is to be recognized globally as the gold standard in assessing nurses.
NNAS would like to add one Public Board Director to its Board of Directors in 2024.
To ensure a diverse and complimentary mix of skills and perspectives exists among members of the Board of Directors, NNAS’ Governance Committee has indicated that candidates possessing the following specialized skills and attributes are of greatest interest for addition to the Board as Public Director :
Finance / Risk Management Chartered Professional Accountant
All Public Directors must bring previous governance experience and ideally also possess some knowledge of the Canadian health landscape.
Public Directors will serve a two-year term with potential for re-election for a second term. A Public Director can serve a maximum of two terms.
Owing to a desire to balance NNAS’ Board geographically, a particular focus is being placed on recruiting individuals in Central and Western Canada.
