Overview

Under the direct supervision of the Outlet Manager, this position is responsible for serving guests at the Asylum Bar. The successful candidate will ensure adherence to all policies and procedures while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members. This role supports Great Canadian's learning environment and ensures compliance with licensing, health and safety, and other statutory regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Greets guests by name wherever possible
  • Escorts guests to a table when applicable; presents menus; informs guests of daily specials
  • Explains how various menu items or beverages are prepared
  • Takes guest orders; makes recommendations
  • Serves guests; checks to ensure satisfaction
  • Resolves guest issues or asks management for assistance
  • Presents bill upon request; takes payment
  • Cleans tables or counters; removes dishes; restocks where applicable
  • Performs opening or closing duties as required
  • Counts cash float at end of shift when applicable
  • Covers other servers sections when required
  • Exercises good judgment when serving alcoholic beverages
  • Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with guests, ownership and team members
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed

Qualifications

  • Must be available to work both Friday and Saturday nights until 3 : 00am
  • Minimum 1 year serving experience
  • Effective and service-oriented communication
  • POS experience
  • Serving it Right Certification
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely service
  • Work Environment Considerations

  • Regular casino, restaurant or bar environment, standing and walking for long periods of time and non-traditional work hours
