Electrical Engineer

Our client is a leader in the mining and infrastructure industry, with a strong focus on productivity and sustainability. Their advanced engineering division, based in Metro Vancouver, specializes in designing and developing heavy-duty battery-powered electric drive systems and supporting infrastructure. The team is dedicated to creating proprietary EV components at the PCB level and delivering complete turn-key systems, including battery packs, vehicle structures, a world-leading dyno, and proprietary firmware and control systems for drive motors, chargers, controllers, DC / DC converters, and battery management systems.

Job Description

We are looking for a talented Electrical Engineer to contribute to the development and optimization of next-generation battery-electric mining equipment. This role will involve working with electrical systems, power distribution, and control circuits to create innovative solutions for a rapidly evolving industry. The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver with a passion for clean technology and a desire to tackle complex engineering challenges.

Role and Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems for battery-electric vehicles (BEVs), including power distribution and control circuits.
• Create and analyze electrical schematics and layouts for integration into vehicle systems.
• Assist in the routing and integration of wire harnesses and electrical components.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
• Support prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical components and systems.
• Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation for manufacturing.
• Research and source electrical components, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Assist in the development of battery management systems (BMS) and vehicle control systems.
