Accountant

Accountant Contract Opportunity - Part-time (2-2.5 days per week)

We are looking for a skilled Accountant to join our team on a contract basis for a duration of 4-6 months, with the possibility of extension or transitioning to a permanent role. Based in Toronto, Ontario, this role requires someone with strong attention to detail who can manage accounts payable and receivable, perform reconciliations, and assist with financial clean-up tasks.

Responsibilities :

• Manage full-cycle accounting processes, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Perform bank and account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
• Assist with preparing for an upcoming audit by organizing and reviewing financial records.
• Work with QuickBooks Online and other industry-specific accounting software to maintain accurate records.
• Support financial clean-up tasks as needed to streamline operations.
• Process invoices and ensure timely payments to vendors.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure compliance with accounting standards and practices.
• Provide periodic updates to the external accountant who visits the office every 7-10 days.
• Adapt to a flexible work schedule, working either four or five days per week.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in full-cycle accounting roles.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and familiarity with industry-specific accounting software.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations.
• Ability to prepare for audits and organize financial records effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with payroll and invoice processing.
• Capability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Flexibility to work a two-day or two and a half-day schedule as required.
