General Description

Under general supervision, the General Labourer performs manual labour duties involved in all municipal operations. This position may be assigned to any operational department for short or long durations as needed. Duties include cleaning and maintaining all assigned areas and facilities, operating a variety of small utility vehicles and hand / power tools, and performing other general labourer duties. The work entails duties of a limited skill nature. The incumbent receives verbal and written instructions from a supervisor or lead designate, and work is monitored or checked in progress and upon completion to ensure that instructions are properly carried out and meet set standards. Assigned responsibilities may include, but are not limited to :
