Specialized IT Consultant

We are seeking a Senior Specialized IT Consultant with deep expertise in Business Intelligence (BI) and Quality Assurance to drive the testing and optimization of complex data systems. In this role, you will act as a subject matter expert, advising clients on IT strategies to improve organizational efficiency. You will lead the analysis and profiling of diverse data sets while ensuring the integrity of ETL programs and BI products. This position requires a technical leader who can bridge the gap between complex data warehousing and high-level business objectives

Pay Rate: $445.44- $482.88

Responsibilities
- Strategic Advisory: Provide guidance on Information Management, IT infrastructure, and the enablement of major business processes through technical enhancements.

- End-to-End BI Testing: Lead the testing of the entire BI stack, including the database, data warehouse, ETL layer (Informatica), and presentation layer (Cognos/Power BI).

- Technical Leadership: Lead data analysis and profiling tasks; mentor junior QA analysts on test frameworks and execution.

- ETL Validation: Analyze and test Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) process flows to ensure accurate data transformations from source to target.

- Test Management: Create comprehensive test strategies, plans, and scripts. Execute functional, regression, and performance testing using tools like HP-ALM and Azure DevOps.

- Accessibility Compliance: Conduct testing for WCAG AA and AODA compliance using tools such as JAWS screen readers and Compliance Sheriff.

- Documentation & Design: Participate in JAD sessions, code walkthroughs, and update technical documentation including source-to-target mapping and operations manuals.

- Collaboration: Partner with Business Analysts and IT specialists to identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and facilitate defect resolution.

Qualifications
- BI Testing Mastery: 10+ years of experience testing BI solutions, including data warehouses, data marts, and reporting layers.

- SDLC Expert: Proven track record of executing testing through all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and STLC.

- SQL Proficiency: Demonstrated experience creating complex SQL scripts for deep data analysis, profiling, and performance optimization.

- Automation Tools: Hands-on experience with Quick Test Pro (UFT), HP Quality Center (ALM), and LoadRunner.

- Technical Stack: Proficiency in testing solutions built with Oracle (11g, 12c), Informatica, IBM Cognos, and Microsoft BI (Power BI/SSRS).

- Data Concepts: Strong understanding of Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD) and profiling data across XML, JSON, and Excel formats.

- Methodologies: Significant experience working in both Agile and Waterfall environments with a focus on SIT, SAT, and UAT cycles.
