The Sales Coordinator role is intentionally designed to learn the business for eventual advancement into a Business Development position. The role provides support for all Sales activities, including customer service, outside sales and operational support as required from Sales & Project Management personnel. The successful individual will act as a liaison between Sales / Business Development, Project Management, Operations and customers by keeping in contact with prospective clients throughout the project bidding process.
A successful candidate is highly organized, self-motivated, and can communicate positively and effectively. This individual is also detail-oriented, takes initiative and has a solutions-based mindset. The position offers the opportunity for growth and advancement while gaining experience in the construction industry, specifically construction site dewatering and water treatment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provides input into project estimates by gathering all applicable information, including inventory, labour, schedules, geotechnical reports, testing, and ESC plans to assist the Business Development teams’ preparation of thorough estimates. This will evolve into the preparation and submission of quotations directly to clients.
- Fosters relationships and provides excellent customer service through regular communication with key stakeholders / clients, including project site personnel (General Contractors, CSO, Engineers etc.).
- Conducts administrative tasks associated with new project preparation including, but not limited to, project insurance, WorkSafe BC clearance letter, review and adherence to all PO terms and conditions, and information to prepare project schematics.
- Works directly with Project Management to arrange logistics for project set-up and site mobilization as required.
- Works directly with clients, Business Development and Project Management to provide additional pricing for additional scopes of work during a project.
- Assembles, reviews and centralizes all required documentation for new projects.
- Sources and coordinates with third party service providers and / or contractors as required for services at the shop or project site.
- Arranges for the creation of promotional and technical materials for networking events, lunch and learns and meetings to generate leads.
- Provides accurate and timely data management in company systems to support Business Development, Operations & Project Management.
- Prepares timely and accurate pipeline and equipment reports to support Business Development and Operations.
- Reviews performance of existing projects against financial and customer parameters.
- Participates in monthly sales meetings, ensuring all notes are recorded and action items have responsibility assigned.
- Learn all inventory items associated with projects : pumps, pipes, power, etc.
- Explores additional project opportunities through various job bid platforms.
- This position will require some availability on evenings and weekends as well as participation in after hours on call coverage.
- With Business Development and Project Management, attends site meetings on a regular basis.
Qualifications :
A minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) is required.Construction industry experience is an asset.Project Management or Business Development experience is an asset.Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Skills :
Ability to manage time effectively while maintaining a sense of urgency and a strong attention to detail.Ability to set priorities accurately and quickly with minimal direction.Comfortable exercising independent judgment and initiative within established guidelines with minimal supervision.Possesses strong customer service and communication skills and establishes positive working relationships.Displays a strong sense of accountability and responsibility for one’s own quality of work.Schedule :
8-hour shiftMonday to Friday, 7AM-3 : 30PMExtended and overtime hours may be required.Regularly scheduled monitoring of after-hours emergency calls and deployment of emergency response team.Compensation & Benefits :
