POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking an efficient, detail-oriented and collaborative Senior Accounting Technician to join our Accounting Team. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, this role will be integral in managing all aspects of the full accounting lifecycle, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and regulatory filings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reconcile bank accounts and cash positions regularly.
• Prepare and declare periodic government sales tax filings for various legal entities.
• Direct accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and collection.
• Manage client payments (cheques, bank wires), aging, and follow-up on outstanding receivables.
• Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions.
• Perform month-end and year-end closings, ensuring proper posting and balance.
• Prepare payroll, ensuring accurate calculations and timely payments, and proper ledger recording.
• Maintain an organized filing system for all legal entities’ documents.
• Evaluate and recommend improvements to accounting systems and processes.
• Prepare accurate financial statements in compliance with applicable standards
• Prepare financial reports and analyses for senior management and stakeholders as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• College or bachelor’s degree in accounting or relevant experience.
• Payroll Compliance Professional Certification or in progress (all three core payroll courses completed successfully) is a requirement
• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Bilingual (French and English).
• Ability to work under a multi-company structure.
• Team and service-oriented.
• Organized and attentive to detail.
• In-depth knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel.
• Experience with Sage Intacct is an asset.
