POSITION OVERVIEW
The Account Manager, Special Accounts or the Senior Account Manager, Special Accounts contributes to the profitability of BDC by minimizing losses arising from BDC special accounts by evaluating the company's long-term viability and action plan. He / she must analyze and identify measures for assisting the entrepreneur concerned and, in collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders, proceed with implementing and / or executing such measures.
CHALLENGES TO BE MET
Work actively with clients and their business advisors to resolve their difficulties in order to improve the situation and communicate effectively and openly with them when explaining BDC's position.
When necessary, identify the highest potential of recovery for BDC and develop an action plan accordingly by assessing risks, pinpointing potential problems, and obtaining and analyzing the required information.
Establish solid contact networks both internally (Credit Risk Management, Business Centres, Corporate Financing, etc.) and externally (lawyers, trustees, appraisers).
Show resourcefulness and creativity in developing action plans that will satisfy as much as possible both BDC and the borrower, and that will ensure the cooperation of all parties involved.
Recommend and execute liquidation plans in such a way as to ensure maximum and prompt recovery.
Keep abreast of all changes to BDC's loan policies and procedures. Maintain thorough knowledge of special accounts processes / policies / delegation of authority and other manuals related to risk assessment and keep this knowledge up to date in order to ensure sound account management.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor's degree in business, preferred
At least five years of relevant experience in finance and commerce (professional or business services firm) or in business financing (financial institution)
Professional designation (CPA, CA, CPA CGA, CPA CMA or CIRP), an asset
Demonstrated ability to analyze risk and apply strong problem-solving skills
Thorough knowledge of the Bank's products, services, policies and procedures, and previous experience in managing special risk accounts
Ability to provide top-quality service to both internal and external clients
Diplomacy and strong conflict-resolution skills
Creativity and resourcefulness
Autonomy
Ability to work under pressure
Bilingualism (French and English) may be required, depending on the job location
