PROJECT MANAGER
The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the overall management and leadership of the project team under the direction of the PM Office. The Project Manager is responsible for creating and maintaining project schedules, reviewing changes, directing subtrades as well as working closely with the Site Superintendent throughout the project life cycle. This position is an on-site project position.
Manage the project lifecycle from start to finish, including profitability, safety enforcement, schedule adherence and quality of work
Monitor project activities, track productivity and efficiency of works, notify the Site Superintendent and senior management of any deviations in manpower and productivity rate
Prepare, monitor, and update project schedules during construction
Review and approve construction progress draws and sub-trade invoices
Review and understand drawings and specifications for accuracy
Coordinate with the formwork design team for on-time delivery of required drawings and plans
Review and process shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, Site Instructions & Change Orders
Monitor and maintain a high quality of workmanship and accountability of contractors and sub-contractors
Promote and monitor an occupational health and safety culture within the organization
Work daily with the site team to develop efficient project plans and monitor the project schedule
Plan, monitor and manage project material and equipment needs as per schedule and project progress
Lead and conduct weekly / daily team meetings
Create, maintain, and deliver all project documents and files within Procore
Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the project team
Manage all facets of project close-out, including archiving of documents, maintenance deficiencies, and closing the punch list
Supervise, mentor, coach, and train project personnel
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE :
Diploma / Degree in Engineering or Project / Construction Management
PMP and / or Professional Engineering designation accreditation is an asset
Minimum 3-4 years of Project Management experience working on commercial, institutional, and high-rise concrete projects in Canada
Proven experience in delivering medium to large-scale mixed-use projects with a focus on structural works including formwork, concrete foundations and suspended slabs, rebar, and architectural structures
Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; experience with Procore and Bluebeam and proficient in scheduling using MS Project
Knowledge of the construction industry, products, equipment, and the various formwork systems including DOKA, PERI and Aluma is an asset
Familiarity with construction methods and building codes
Knowledge and the ability to comply with and promote all WorkSafe (WCB) procedures / safety practices including on site work practices and guidelines
Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment
Effective communication (verbal and written), presentation and interpersonal skills
