Overview
Purpose
Assist the project team in the coordination of detailed projects, including proper recordkeeping, on-time delivery of materials, and change order management. Cultivate a positive customer service environment.
Responsibilities
- Must adhere to Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s safety programs and standards.
- Demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s mission statement.
- Contact the customer at the start of each project and be proactive throughout the project in coordinating all aspects of the job.
- Coordinate project requirements with contractor and detailer(s) to ensure the submission of approval drawings (if required), and the delivery of all contracted material meets the customer’s schedule.
- Attend site meetings as required to support the Nucor Rebar Fabrication site team.
- Produce necessary documents and coordinate orders in Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s business system.
- Assist the supervisor in the review of projects; help resolve discrepancies.
- Understand Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s standard contract management procedures. Maintain contract file, monitor lump sums for overruns, and monthly invoicing.
- Place non-rebar product orders.
- Control the contract with the use of Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s business system.
- Track change orders through the business system. Develop a working knowledge of the RSIC Manual, reinforced concrete construction and other industry practices.
- Develop a working knowledge of detailing, fabrication, and placing practices.
- Perform other duties as required by management.
Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements
High school diploma, GED, or local / state equivalentThree years of project coordination experience or high-level administrative experiencePreferred Qualifications and Education Requirements
At least one year of experience in a construction environmentTwo-year degree from an accredited school or college, preferably in Construction Management or Architectural EngineeringBasic knowledge of reinforcing bar detailingExperience in customer relations and resolving problems or disputesSelection Criteria
Possess critical thinking skills and have the ability to creatively problem-solveProficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)Basic knowledge of standard business practicesSpecial and Physical Demands
Must be able to work overtime when required to meet operational demandsTypical office activitiesUsing hands to operate objects, tools, computers and other electronic equipmentLifting / handling computers and related equipmentVision abilities, including close vision and adjusting focusSalary Range - $70,000- $85,000
