The Opportunity

We're seeking a seasoned professional to join our Fixed Income team as VP or Director, Government Finance. This role is key to deepening BMO's leadership in the Canadian public sector debt markets, strengthening our relationships with issuers and expanding our impact across the fixed income landscape. You'll lead relationship management and syndication efforts with government and government-sponsored issuers, while collaborating across trading, and sales to deliver best-in-class solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Client Leadership : Serve as the primary relationship manager for public sector issuers, delivering daily market insights, pricing guidance, and strategic advice.
• Market Intelligence : Provide timely and actionable market commentary, relative value analysis, and investor feedback to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Syndication Strategy : Drive syndication efforts for new issues, coordinating with internal teams to optimize execution and book building.
• Platform Collaboration : Partner with trading, sales, and other product teams to identify cross-platform opportunities and enhance client outcomes. Act as central point of coordination across multiple teams to ensure seamless execution of deals.
• Business Growth : Contribute to the strategic direction of the Government Finance business, identifying growth opportunities and revenue drivers.

Base salary range : CAD $150,000-$175,000 , commensurate with experience and level (VP vs Director), plus discretionary bonus.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group's total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
