Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking a Mine Maintenance Labourer at our Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton, BC. This position is a 7x7, 12 hours schedule, day and night shift rotation.

Please note that this opportunity is NOT a fly-in-fly-out position.

Mine Maintenance Labourer

Location

Copper Mountain Mine is located near the town of Princeton, British Columbia at the center of the scenic Similkameen Valley. Princeton is a community-oriented town with a diverse offering of activities, especially for those who love the outdoors. Princeton is also in close proximity to both the city of Vancouver and the Okanagan.

Summary

Reporting to Mine Maintenance Supervisor, the Mine Maintenance Labourer is responsible for assisting the Mine Maintenance groups with various labour-type tasks.

Responsibilities

• Conducts all activities safely and follows all pertinent Copper Mountain Mine safety requirements and SOPs,
• Practices safe work behaviors and supports the Copper Mountain Mine safety culture through participation in daily and monthly safety meetings and initiatives,
• Adheres strictly to personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements in all areas while on mine property,
• Performs general housekeeping practices in the work area,
• Takes oil samples for preventive maintenance,
• Uses steam cleaning equipment to clean the equipment with particular attention to detail,
• Assists mechanics, electricians, and maintenance team members when required and fills in for lube serviceperson when required,
• Performs any other responsibilities related to the Mine Maintenance Labourer role as required or as assigned by the supervisor.
