Function Summary :
This role is responsible for all activities relating to the repair, modification and preventive maintenance of production and facility systems and equipment in order to maintain compliance with business needs and Good Manufacturing Practices.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
- Performs preventive maintenance and reports all deficiencies or unsafe working conditions found to Maintenance Supervisor
- Troubleshoots and repairs all production machinery and plant equipment according to maintenance manuals and / or guidance from the Maintenance Supervisor
- Troubleshoots to determine best course of action to address breakdowns and repairs.
- Inspects and tests operation of machinery and systems to diagnose faults using testing devices.
- Repairs and adjusts system components or remove and replace defective parts.
- Fabricates replacement parts for machinery and equipment as required utilizing the existing machining equipment, as well as utilizing a wide array of hand tools.
- Works closely in a collaborative manner with the Maintenance Planner and Spare Parts Inventory technician.
- Participates in the Maintenance Shutdown activities working independently or as part of a team on Maintenance assignments.
- Participates on continuous improvement projects as required. Executes related assignments.
- Observes and supports all safety guidelines and regulations.
- Follows GMP and regulatory requirements and ensures quality standards are met.
- Ensure production downtime is minimized, and production output is maximized.
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization in maintenance shop.
- Demonstrate solid communication and interpersonal skills in a team-based work environment.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality; flexibility in work schedule to accommodate business requirements.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Essential Skills and Qualifications :
Minimum 2-5 years relevant working experience in a manufacturing environmentMust have completed 3 rd year Millwright ApprenticeProficiency in reading and interpreting architectural, mechanical, piping and instrumentation drawings (PID), understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams.Experience reading and troubleshooting blueprint diagrams and schematics drawings.Proficiency in MS Office and knowledge of maintenance related programs.Ability to work under pressure under tight timeframes.Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment.Proven analytical, trouble shooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.Effective organizational, time management and detail-orientation skills.Ability to work with minimal supervision, taking initiative and prioritizing work.PLC programming on controls, network and automation experience would be an asset.Experience in a food manufacturing environment would be considered a definite assetExperience maintaining high speed packaging and robotics equipment would be an asset.Experience maintaining facility systems such as chillers, boilers, waster water treatment plant would be an asset.Experience on troubleshooting Life Support Systems (fire alarms, emergency lighting, speakers and others) would be an asset.Working Conditions :

Variety of lifting and lowering tasks involved in using tools and lifting tool bag to required locations.Periods of static standing required; duration will vary depending on complexity of repair.Shoulder reaching and overhead reaching required for all repair, maintenance, calibration, installation and adjustment tasks, but could be level dependant on specific task and obstacles present, as well as worker positioning on ladder.Gripping required for all essential job demands and must be capable of supporting a variety of power and hand tools.Dynamic cervical rotation, crouching, squatting and kneeling may be required while ensuring machine is running properly / adjusting machine.Some repairs will be conducted in high or low temperature and / or confined space.Total Rewards Package : Our Total Rewards package reflects the investment we make in our employees to help them and their families achieve their well-being goals.
