Reporting to a Foreman, a Loader Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a loader. This position operates loaders equipped with a front-mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop, which is used to transport aggregate or other materials, feed hoppers or chutes, and / or stockpile aggregates.

Equipment Operation :
Operate a loader and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment.Understand and follow directions from supervisors as to the required work area.Operate loader controls to lower and tilt buckets and drive forward to force buckets into bulk material; move levers to raise and tilt buckets when filled; or dump material.Ensure a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance.Operate a loader on public or private roadways, maintaining proper awareness of one’s surroundings.Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of a loader.Train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of a loader.Operate other heavy equipment; other construction related duties as required.Technical Knowledge :
Possess knowledge of loaders and other heavy equipment.Knowledge of road construction materials, road construction processes, and industry requirements.Understanding of computerized controls and electronics.The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following :
Qualifications & Experience
High school or equivalent; with experience in related construction activities.2–3 years’ experience operating a loader is required.Valid Class 5 Operator’s License; clean Driver Abstract.Knowledge of road construction materials, road construction processes, and industry requirements.Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.Valid Ground Disturbance certificate.Note : We promote a safe work environment with a substance testing program.
