Job Overview :

The Vice President, Strata, is responsible  for building and managing a high-performance team that profitably delivers outstanding client service and continually enhances the Company’s position as an industry leader. As a member of the executive leadership team, responsible for creating and supporting strategic business development of the BC marketplace.

This role requires someone who has significant experience in the service sector. Must be willing to obtain a Strata Property Management license (within the first year), and eventually, a Managing Broker license, issued by the BC Financial Services Authority (BCFSA).

  • This position will require work outside regular business hours

Key Responsibilities :

  • Working collaboratively and ensuring Regional Director / Director accountability for their individual Strata Manager teams.
  • Leading by example and proactively stepping in to support and lead directly, as necessary.
  • Launching and / or supporting initiatives with project planning to establish clear and effective roles and responsibilities.
  • Working with and building a strong professional rapport with industry boards and resources, including but not limited to BC Financial Services Authority (BCFSA), Professional Association of Managing Agents (PAMA), Canadian Condominium Institute (CCI).
  • Regularly attending key client meetings, virtually and in person, and attending properties in person to meet with and build relationships with clients.
  • Working collaboratively with other department Directors / VPs to continuously improve the outputs of the strata management team, gathering / soliciting feedback and actioning feedback.
  • Building a strong network within the industry as a brand ambassador for FirstService Residential as it relates to top talent, vendors, companies and competitors.
  • Support in the action planning of the associate engagement survey results; partnering with the Directors / VPs to support company strategic goals and objectives.
  • Optimizing portfolio allocation to meet both financial and service objectives.
  • Identifying new business opportunities and revenue sources such as special projects, and maximizing all ancillary revenue opportunities.
  • Taking full accountability for the divisions financial results, adjusting operations to address and correct any shortfalls.
  • Skills & Qualifications :

  • A minimum of 10 years of combined leadership experience, including five to eight years in a senior management role, is required.
  • A university degree in a related field is preferred. Equivalent combinations of training and experience will be considered.
  • Proven ability to set and achieve aggressive targets for growth and profitability.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering excellent customer service.
  • Proven leadership and consensus building skills, with the ability to lead and motivate high-performing teams and foster a positive work environment that supports the corporate mission and values.
  • Participative and collaborative management style with excellent interpersonal and communication skills style and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.

    Compensation :

    Base compensation of $150K-$170K commensurate with experience and skillset, plus monthly vehicle and phone allowance. Eligibility for annual incentive plan (bonus) based on achievement of financial results.
