3+ years of relevant work experienceExperience and knowledge of food service and hospitality operations is preferredA desire to drive change and make an impactAn energetic, curious, continuous learner with an interest and knowledge of sustainability in food supply chainsHighly organized, results oriented with the ability to execute projects with analytical / strategic thinkingStrong communication at all levels with a collaborative approachStrong verbal and written communication and presentation skillsSelf-starter, proactive and able to work independently and in a teamDetail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyBilingual is a plusResponsibilities
Achieving Zero Waste Certification in the dining hallEnsuring the use of compostable and reusable packaging and increasing diversion ratesManaging the WINNOW Food Waste Management tracking and reporting technologyCo-ordinating monthly Local Procurement reportingManaging the onsite container garden to provide hyper local produce year roundDeveloping and showcasing partnerships with local farmers and suppliersWorking with the culinary team to develop recipes focused on local ingredientsEnsuring retail concepts are designed with a sustainability focusRun information sessions on campus regarding campus initiatives and participate in campus sustainability activitiesPromote Fair Trade Campus Certification and Organic Campus CertificationRequirements and Expectations
The Sustainability Execution Coordinator is responsible for the execution and day-to-day operations to achieve sustainability goals and KPIs aligned with the Acadia Food Plan and Compass Group Canada Planet Promise commitments, aiming for Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050.
