We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing electrical service contracting firm with $24 million in annual revenue. This role is responsible for managing core financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting business growth through financial analysis and process improvement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction or service-based accounting and be comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities :
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.Oversee accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and payroll functions.Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax reporting requirements.Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts.Provide variance analysis and interpret financial data to guide decision-making.Support cash flow management, including forecasting and monitoring liquidityMaintain accurate job costing records and ensure project profitability reporting.Work with project managers to monitor job performance, including change orders and cost controls.Prepare work-in-progress (WIP) reports and analyze project margins.Support annual audits and coordinate with external auditors.Maintain and improve internal controls and financial policies.Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policiesIdentify opportunities to streamline accounting processes for efficiency and accuracy.Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff.Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, project management, and executive leadership.Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (pursuing CPA or CPA preferred).Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction, contracting, or service industry.Strong understanding of construction accounting principles, including percentage-of-completion (PoC) and WIP reporting.Proficiency in ERP / accounting software (experience with systems like Sage 300, Viewpoint, or QuickBooks preferred).Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.controller, accounts, billing clerk, accounting jobs, admin jobs
