Casual Cashier Receptionist – Cowichan Valley Regional District

Join the Community Services Department at the Cowichan Community Centre to provide front‑line service at the Ticket Centre. In this role, you will greet the public, handle telephone and in‑person inquiries, route information, and manage program registration, ticket sales, and merchandise sales. You will also balance daily cash receipts and provide excellent customer service.

Qualifications :

• Secondary school graduation plus cash / clerical / computer training, or an equivalent amount of education, training, and experience.
• Related experience in a customer‑service capacity, working with cash and balancing daily cash receipts, or equivalent combination of skills, education, and training.
• Familiarity with the operation of standard business equipment, including computers and a multi‑line telephone system.
• Basic First Aid certificate.

Because this is casual work, you will be required to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, and weekends. There are no guaranteed hours of work.

The wage rate is in three steps as per the Collective Agreement between the CVRD and CUPE Local 358 :

$25.59 ‑ $26.28 ‑ $27.07 per hour (2025 rates), plus an additional 14.5% pay in lieu of vacation, benefits and statutory holidays.
