How You Will Contribute : Develop applications that enhance the capabilities of the WaveRouter system / platform.* Design and implement embedded, real-time software solutions for telecommunications systems.* Write and test software code to ensure robust functionality.* Support testing activities during the release cycle for delivered features.* Collaborate with design teams to develop on-switch applications and OAM software features supporting Optical / Ethernet-based initiatives. The Must Haves : Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.* Ability to contribute effectively to a team environment.* Proficiency in embedded C programming. Nice to Haves : Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Python, Go, or BASH.* Familiarity with datacom and telecom concepts including Ethernet, TCP / IP, MPLS, DWDM.* Knowledge of real-time software / firmware development and Linux-based development environments.* Exposure to CLI, SNMP, NETCONF, REST, gRPC protocols.* Hands-on experience with design and development tools such as Git, Eclipse, JIRA, Confluence, GDB, Yocto.* Familiarity with YANG modeling language and toolchains.* Interest in automation and testing practices. Pay Range : The annual pay range for this position is $ 69,400 - 110,800 CADPay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business.
