Description
The Director of People and Culture will support the execution of Canadian human resources and National talent acquisition functions. This role requires a leader with a strong background in employee engagement, change management, risk mitigation and data-driven talent strategies. The Director will oversee HR operations, ensure compliance with labor laws, and drive a proactive data supported recruitment process that supports the organization’s growth and retention needs.

What You Will Do :
Human Resources Leadership :
Support the development and execute HR strategies that promote an inclusive, high-performing, and compliant work environment.HR operations, including employee relations, performance management, compensation for specified departments.Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal employment laws and regulations.Support and continue to develop / improve initiatives to drive organizational culture, employee engagement, and retention.Partner with departmental leadership on talent management strategies.Talent Acquisition :
Lead the national talent acquisition function with a focus on structure and metrics supporting innovative recruiting strategies to attract top talent across all levels.Support the Recruitment Lead who is driving the full-cycle recruitment process, from job posting and sourcing to interviewing, selection, and onboarding.Build employer brand initiatives to position the organization as an employer of choice within its industry.Oversee the design and implementation of talent pipelines, leveraging data to predict and address future talent needs.Ensure a diverse, equitable, and inclusive hiring process, promoting diversity in the workplace.Collaborate with decentralized recruiting HR team members, hiring managers and senior leadership to understand workforce needs and deliver top-tier talent acquisition results.Leadership and Coaching :
Provide coaching and mentorship to HR staff, supporting their professional development and performance.Drive leadership development programs and initiatives that empower managers and leaders to effectively lead their teams.Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on all HR matters, including organizational design and talent optimization.Data-Driven Decision Making :
Leverage HR analytics and reporting to inform decisions related to workforce planning, performance management, retention, and compensation strategies.Use data to continuously assess and improve recruitment and HR processes, ensuring optimal efficiency and effectiveness.What You Will Bring :
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree or HR certification preferred).Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.Proven experience in talent acquisition, including the development and execution of recruitment strategies.In-depth knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex HR and recruitment initiatives in a fast-paced environment.Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with all levels of the organization.Experience with HR information systems (HRIS) and applicant tracking systems (ATS), as well as HR analytics tools. Workday and UKG experience an asset.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking capabilities.Key Competencies :
