ASL Interpreter

Under the supervision and direction of the Principal and / or designate, the Interpreter is responsible for facilitating learning and communication among students who are deaf and hard-of-hearing in an educational setting; providing interpretive assistance to individual or small groups of students in inclusive settings; providing assistance to teachers as required; supervising students as required; and other various duties .
Duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to :
Qualifications :
Complete secondary education, successful completion of a recognized American Sign Language English Interpreter Program and a minimum of two years previous experience working with deaf and hard of hearing students in an educational environment
Equivalent combination of training and / or skills may be considered
Knowledge and understanding of the related Division policies and procedures is desirable.
