Description de posteEarly Childhood Training and / or Teacher Assistant Certificate First Aid Training Previous experience working with students with special needs and behavioural difficulties Previous experience working with speech / language programs Excellent communication skills Implement Individual Program Plans under teacher supervision Assist in providing data for student evaluation Alert teacher to any special circumstances regarding a student Assist with large, small groups or individual students Support classroom discipline methods Assist with field trips Adapt classroom activities to students’ capabilities, encouraging independence and self‑help skills Monitor students in class and on the playground, reinforcing safe behaviours and participation in travel, training and off‑campus activities Escort students to and from bus, taxi, etc. Conduct prescribed therapeutic and exercise programs for physically exceptional students Attend to personal needs of students with disabilities, including feeding, toileting, and use of mobility equipment Participate in all facets of the program to develop language, independence, mobility and self‑help skills under teacher or multi‑disciplinary team direction Assist in maintaining progress records, provide observations, and work as part of the multi‑disciplinary team Prepare instructional material, lesson supplies, and equipment under teacher direction Clean and store materials and equipment after use Display student work and prepare bulletin board displays Mark objective lists and routine exercises Continuously improve expertise and job‑related skills Other responsibilities as assigned by teacher / Principal
