Personal Support Worker - Full-Time - Gateway Haven - Wiarton, ON

About the Job

The nursing department at Gateway Haven is accepting applications for Personal Support Workers. Under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), a Personal Support Worker (PSW) will provide personal care of residents in accordance with the residents’ care plan ensuring high quality care and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary health care team.

Salary & Benefits

The wage for this position is $27.61 per hour, based on the UNIFOR collective agreement.

Full-time Evenings (2 pm - 10 pm) and full-time Nights (10 pm to 6 am) lines are available. Full-time lines contain 10 shifts within a two week period, which includes every other weekend.

Requirements

Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent

Personal Support Worker Certificate or equivalent as per O.Reg. 79 / 10 of the Long-Term, Care Homes Act, 2007

One year previous working experience in health care, preferably in a long term care setting

Mature and in good physical health

Genuine interest in the well-being of the elderly

Demonstrated patience, adaptability and flexibility

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Clear Vulnerable Sector Check

Two-Step TB Skin Test
