Position Overview :
The Cyber Security Analyst is responsible for protecting the organization’s information systems, networks, and data from cyber threats and security risks. This role monitors security events, investigates incidents, implements security controls, and supports ongoing risk management initiatives to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of organizational assets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to ) :
Monitor & Detect : Continuously watch network activity for suspicious behavior, security alerts, and potential breaches using security tools.Analyze & Investigate : Investigate security incidents, identify root causes, and analyze vulnerabilities in systems and networks.Implement & Harden : Deploy security software, configure hardware, and implement preventative measures like stronger encryption and access controls.Respond & Recover : Lead incident response efforts, document findings, and create disaster recovery plans.Educate & Train : Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on cybersecurity best practices.Report & Comply : Generate security reports, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with security standards.Required Skills and Abilities :
Technical Skills : Understanding of operating systems, network protocols, programming, and security software.Analytical Skills : Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail.Communication : Ability to collaborate with IT teams and communicate complex security issues clearly.Education and Experience :
Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, plus relevant certifications.
Work Environment :
Primarily office-based, with potential on-call availability for incident responseMay be required to respond to security incidents outside of regular business hours
