Permanent Full-Time Transportation Technician / Journeyman Mechanic - Moosomin Bus Garage (OOS)

South East Cornerstone Public School Division is seeking a full-time permanent Transportation Technician for the Moosomin Bus Garage location. Reporting directly to the Transportation Foreman, the successful incumbent will carry out day-to-day maintenance of bus and fleet vehicles to ensure they are safe and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Certify the safety of buses.
• Assist in maintaining shop and grounds to be clean and safe.
• Carry out a preventative maintenance program for all division-owned vehicles.
• Do inventory of stock as required and recommend parts for ordering.
• Assist in keeping equipment up-to-date to maintain buses and fleet vehicles.
• Maintain a safe working environment that complies with all applicable rules and regulations.
• Handle maintenance concerns regarding the safe operation of buses or division vehicles.
• Be prepared to meet emergency needs outside regular hours as required.
• Upgrade skills to ensure proper maintenance procedures are used.
• Conduct oneself in a manner appropriate to an educational institution serving children.
• Commit to lifelong learning with respect to training, in-service and courses of study.
• Be able to temporarily fill in for the Foreman when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Transportation Foreman.
