About the Opportunity
Our client is a well-established public accounting firm in Richmond Hill with a rapidly growing U.S. Tax division . As part of this continued expansion, they are seeking a U.S. Tax Manager to play a key leadership role within the practice.
This is a strong opportunity for an experienced U.S. tax professional who enjoys a mix of technical work, client interaction, and people leadership , and who is looking to grow within a specialized and well-supported U.S. tax group.
The Role
As U.S. Tax Manager , you will oversee U.S. tax compliance and advisory engagements while managing and mentoring staff. You'll work closely with Partners, take ownership of client relationships, and contribute to the ongoing development and efficiency of the U.S. Tax practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and review U.S. federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, trusts, and estates
- Lead U.S. tax compliance engagements including Forms 1040, 1040-NR, 1120, 1120-F, 5471, 5472, 8621, FinCEN 114, 3520, and 3520-A
- Review and guide U.S. estate and gift tax filings (706-NA, 709) where applicable
- Conduct and review U.S. federal and international tax research (PFICs, Subpart F, GILTI)
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and manage ongoing relationships
- Oversee engagement timelines, staffing, and deliverables
- Review and respond to IRS and state tax authority correspondence
- Support onboarding of new U.S. tax clients and establish compliance processes
- Identify process improvements and efficiency opportunities within the practice
- Train, mentor, and supervise associates and senior associates
- Support Partners with workflow planning and practice management initiatives

5+ years of progressive U.S. tax experience within public accounting2+ years in a leadership or review capacityStrong experience with U.S. individual and corporate tax returns (1040, 1040-NR, 1120, 1120-F, 1065)Experience with U.S. international reporting (5471, 5472, 8621, FinCEN 114, 3520 / 3520-A)U.S. CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation considered a strong assetExposure to U.S. estate and gift tax filings considered an assetKnowledge of Canadian tax legislation considered an assetExperience with U.S. tax software (GoSystem an asset)Strong leadership, communication, and client management skillsAbility to manage multiple engagements and deadlinesWhy Join Our Client
