The Role

At ABC News youll create visually engaging and memorable digital experiences that turn data journalism and interactive storytelling into compelling news moments for millions of Australians.

The Job

  • Design mobile-first visual journalism including infographics motion graphics and interactive data visualisations.
  • Create accurate engaging visuals and animations that make complex information easy to understand.
  • Collaborate with developers and journalists on data visualisations and long-form stories.
  • Stay current with digital design trends and share new ideas with the team.
  • Explore new storytelling formats and contribute diverse relevant story ideas for ABC audiences.

    About You

    Youll have :

  • Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • Strong experience designing complex visuals and interactive content for digital news.
  • Skilled in UX / UI for digital storytelling and aware of front-end design needs.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and other graphic tools.
  • Desirable : 3D modelling QGIS motion graphics or video skills.
  • Work well independently and under tight deadlines.
  • Creates engaging visuals for social media and digital platforms.
  • Collaborative and committed to diverse authentic storytelling.
