Overview
As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in protecting the company’s assets and assisting the operations team through business expansion by ensuring timely and accurate reporting, implementation of scalable processes and providing sound business advice. This role is required to operate out of our head office in Campbell River, B.C.
Responsibilities
- Complete an effective, efficient, and timely month-end close process, including ownership of the general ledger, preparation of adjusting entries and monthly reconciliations for all entities.
- Manage revenue recognition, reconcile AP / AR and respond to third-party enquiries with respect and transparency.
- Prepare all financial reports in a timely manner, meeting bank covenants, partner requirements and CRA requirements.
- Liaise with external accountants through the annual review
- Enhance and evolve processes and internal controls to meet the growth of the business.
- Assume all treasury management responsibilities
- Maintain all MIS, namely the projects reporting platform
- Ensure compliance and reporting for all government programs, including GST, PST, WCB, Payroll remittances, corporate tax, and any other authorities that may arise over time.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience as a Accountant or equivalent experience.Experience in Construction industry, manufacturing or other project-based environment.CPA designation or nearing completion.Experience in auditing or preparing financial statements.Strong computer skills, particularly in Excel and QuickBooks.Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent activities, demonstrating excellent judgment under tight deadlines.#J-18808-Ljbffr
